Posted on behalf of Jeremy Thompson, the Adams-Edmore advisor: I would like to extend an invitation to your SADD chapter to attend a regional get-together to be held in Lakota, ND on May 9th – 10th. We are looking at a year-end activity to fill the students up with one last dose of SADD before they embark on their summer vacations. It will be a great opportunity to remind the students that SADD is not just an August-May commitment, but that it is a lifestyle choice that lasts all year long. The day will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday the 9th at the Lakota Elementary School. Introductions and icebreakers will begin the get-together before heading off to a variety of available activities. Next door to the school is a field for students to play softball, as well as another field for other miscellaneous outdoor games. It is here where we will provide supper in the form of a cookout with hamburgers and hotdogs. Beverages will also be available, in addition to a root beer keg. Starting at 9:00 pm on Saturday there will be a dance put on by the same DJ that does the state conference. The dance will last until midnight, and once it is over, a lock-in will follow. There will be several rooms with a variety of activities ranging from Nintendo Wii, Guitar Hero, movie rooms, board games, etc. The gym will also be available. Students will need to bring sleeping items (sleeping bag, pillow, blankets, etc) as well as any activities they might like to take part in, whether it be on the baseball field, or for the lock-in. Feel free to bring other games, movies, or consoles they would like to possibly set up. Lastly, the cost for the day will be $5 per person, which will help cover the food and expenses for the dance. Students who stay for the lock-in will leave in the morning, 10:00 AM at the latest. Please call or email me as soon as possible in regards to how many students/chaperones will be attending so we can get a better count for food purposes. Let me know at the very latest by Wednesday, May 6th. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me at 701-644-2281 or email me at jeremy.thompson.2@sendit.nodak.edu Hope to see you all there! |
