Katie Hultin (Katie Paulson as of 8/30/03) from Hillsboro was our first North Dakota SADD Student of the Year and had a powerful impact upon the growth of ND SADD. Katie served as S.O.Y. in 1999-2000 and also served during that time on the National SADD Student Leadership Council. Katie shared her poise and determination with the entire nation in 2000-2001, after she was selected the National SADD Student of the Year. In the eyes of many, she was the best Student of the Year SADD has ever had.

Katie will soon be finishing her degree in English Education from the University of North Dakota and plans to teach high school English and be a SADD advisor.
