Students of the Year

While North Dakota SADD was still in its infant stage, the idea to get kids involved at the National level was proposed: Select one SADD member that best exemplifies the message of SADD to be recognized for his or her efforts and encourage them to apply for the National Student Leadership Council (SLC).

So it has been in North Dakota since. One student that personifies the SADD lifestyle is selected as our Student of the Year, and, traditionally, this student is the first one we invite to apply for the SLC. The Student of the Year is announced each year before our state conference, where the torch is passed from the old to the new student.

The obligations of the Student of the Year include being available for State Advisory Board meetings, attending press conferences, and, of course, being the figurehead for SADD in his or her state.
